Based out of Waiuku and the surrounding suburbs Onpoint Pilates is your go to when it comes to safe and effective exercise for pre and post natal mums.
As your body is constantly and rapidly changing throughout each trimester we create the exercises to change and support you along your personal journey. We highly recommend that from six weeks onwards, you participate in our warm and friendly Pre-Post natal classes.
Many women find Pilates to be one of best exercises to do, both during and after their pregnancy. One of the top reasons Pilates and pregnancy go together so well is that Pilates is great at building the much needed core strength. If your abdominals, back and pelvic floor/kegel muscles are toned, they will support a much more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. Separation of the abdominal muscles is a common condition after some pregnancies, or many years of abdominal loading with poor technique and is called Diastasis Rectus Abdominis.
In some, Diastasis can prevent optimal function of the core, we test for Diastasis before we commence. This is just one of the many reasons why we recommend our Pre-Post natal classes.
